Your first triathlon can start at 45, 55 or 65.

F.A.T.T. is a team of grown-ups training for their first race together. No one here is fast yet, and no one needs to be.

A sprint triathlon – the distance most of us choose for a first race. Walking parts of the run is allowed.

Who the team is for

If you have ever watched a triathlon and thought “not for me”, this team is for you.

You're 45 or older

Most of us have jobs, families and knees with a history. Training plans fit around real lives.

You've never raced

Not a triathlon, maybe not anything. Breaststroke, a city bike and a slow jog are a fine start.

You'd rather not do it alone

We train in small groups, share what we learn, and stand at the finish line for each other.

How a F.A.T.T. season works

  1. Come to a session

Join any training session for free and meet the group. Bring a towel and whatever bike you have.

  2. Build up through the winter

Swim technique in the pool, easy rides and run–walk sessions, [number] times a week.

  3. Pick a race together

We choose one beginner-friendly sprint race in [month and region] and enter as a team.

  4. Finish in team colors

Race in the F.A.T.T. tri suit, with the team tent at transition and friends at the finish.

Race day is a team day

On race day the F.A.T.T. tent is the meeting point: bags go there, nerves are shared there, and everyone who has already finished waits there for the rest.

Members get the team tri suit in navy with the swim, bike and run colors – so you can spot each other on the course.
