Privacy & terms
What information we collect, what we do with it, and what this website is – and isn't.
[DRAFT – to be reviewed and approved by Ka-Lo Yeh, JD before the site goes live. Remove this box afterwards.]
Effective date: [date]
Who we are
The First Adult Triathlon Team (F.A.T.T.) is a [group of friends / nonprofit club – legal form to be confirmed] based in the San Francisco Bay Area, California. You can reach us at hello@teamfatt.org.
Information we collect
- Emails you send us – your name, email address and whatever you write.
- Team gear orders – your name, email address, the items, sizes and cuts you choose, any name to print, and your notes.
- Members' area logins – the user name and password we set up for you.
- Server logs – like most websites, our web host automatically records technical data such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested, to keep the site running and secure.
This website does not use cookies, analytics or advertising trackers.
How we use it
Only to run the team: to answer your messages, organize training, and process gear orders. We never sell your information or use it for advertising.
Who else handles it
- Our web host, ALL-INKL.COM (Germany), stores the website and handles our team email.
- The apparel maker receives the sizes and names to print for each group order, [but not your email address – confirm].
- Google, if you open the training calendar in the members' area, because the calendar is provided by Google Calendar and is subject to Google's privacy policy.
Do Not Track
We don't track visitors across websites, and we don't allow third parties to do so on this site, so browser “Do Not Track” signals don't change anything here.
Your choices
Email hello@teamfatt.org to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you. We keep order details only as long as we need them for the order and our team records, [e.g. two years].
Children
This website is for adults. It is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Not medical advice
Training tips, plans and race information on this website are general information for adults, not medical advice. Triathlon training is physically demanding. Check with your doctor before you start, especially if you're over 45, haven't exercised in a while, or have a heart condition, high blood pressure or joint problems. Stop and get help if you feel unwell.
Taking part
You take part in training sessions and races at your own risk. Everyone joining group training must sign the team's [participation waiver – prepared by Ka-Lo Yeh] before their first session. Follow the rules of pools, roads and race organizers, and always wear a helmet on the bike.
Website content
We keep this website accurate, but it's provided as is. Race distances, dates and rules can change; check with the race organizer. The F.A.T.T. name and logo belong to the team. Please ask before using them.
Changes
If we change this page, we'll update the effective date above.
